The Caxys hosted the LFA Early Season and welcomed five other schools to the Academy. LFA finished second for both the boys and girls teams. Winners for LFA included Aubrey Ewing ’27 in the long jump, Leo Lei ’27 in the long jump, Gabi Stewart ’24 in the discus, Matthew Sexton ’24 in the 300m hurdles, Diana Hofmann ’24 in the 3200m run and 1600m run, Maria Retelewski ’25 in the 800m run, and the 4x400m relay team of Sexton, John David Gallagher ’24 , Colin Gupta ’24 , and Colton Dunford ’26 . The boys track and field team traveled to Glenbrook South for the final indoor meet. Joining the Caxys and host Glenbrook South were Warren Township, Round Lake and Wheeling. Among the top performances, the 4x400m relay team of Colin Gupta ’24 , Matthew Sexton ’24 , Colton Dunford ’26 , and Yao Yuan Liu ’27 tied the school record. Other records set at the meet included William Sun ’24 in the shot put, Kevin Liu ’26 in the 55m high hurdles, and Austin Ewing ’26 in the 55m low hurdles. The girls track and field team took the short trip to Glenbrook South for an indoor meet that also included Maine South, Barrington, and Wheeling.
