Four Caxys Claim ISL Titles
Wetzel-Schoellhorn Track

ISL Championships: Team Scores | Individual Results

A total of four Lake Forest Academy students won their respective events at the ISL Championships there were held at Wetzel-Schoellhorn Track on LFA’s campus on Saturday, May 6.

The boys team placed second while the girls team finished in a tie for fourth place. Individual champions for the Caxys included Kendall Scales ’24 in the 100m hurdles, Kate Delia ’25 in the 800m, Anton Walvoord ’23 in the 110m hurdles, and Tyler Wood ’23 in the high jump.

Dalia posted three top three finishes with her win in the 800m in a time of 2:27.39 followed by a second place showing in the 1,600m at 5:49.66 and a third place in the 400m with a time of 1:02.67. Scales posted a winning time of 18.72 in the 100m hurdles and also finished in third in the 300m hurdles with a time of 52.55. Other top three finishers for the girls team included Gabi Stewart ’24 finishing third in the shot put with a distance of 8.89m and Emma Swanson ’25 in third in the long jump with a jump of 4.42m.

Walvoord won the 110m hurdles in a time of 16.37 and also finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.72m. Wood claimed the title in the high jump with a winning height of 1.77m. Seven other Caxys registered top three finishes in the conference meet with William Sun’s ’24 distance of 29.17m in the discus taking second followed by Richard Zhang ’23 in third at 27.42m. Djasahn English ’23 was third in the 200m in a time of 23.74 while Yusef Primus ’25 was third in the 400m at 52.28. Matthew Sexton ’24 finished third in the 300m hurdles at 45.08 as did Owen Coxe ’23 in the shot put at 10.24m and Salajan English ’24 in the long jump with a distance of 5.43m.

Northridge Prep held off LFA to win the boys team championship with 130 points. The Caxys totaled 107 points to put them ahead of University High at 97 points. Regina Dominican won the girls team title with 125 points ahead of 116 for Latin. The Caxys were tied for fourth with University High with 74 points.
